Welcome to Mississippi County, Arkansas, rich in Delta land and people! Located in the northeast corner of the state, the county was formed in 1833 and named for the mighty river that flows along its eastern border. Home to two county seats, Blytheville in the north and Osceola in the south, Mississippi County has a long history of being a leader in agriculture and has developed into an industrial stronghold over the last twenty years. Mississippi County has transportation access to the Mississippi River, Interstate 55, rail, port and airport facilities. Arkansas Northeastern College provides quality educational programs and lifelong learning opportunities for northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri ‘Bootheel’ region residents. Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Mallard Lake provide the best of recreation through duck hunting, fishing, bird watching and other wildlife activities.
Enjoy a variety of landscape views with the four distinct seasonal changes that occur each year. Spring azaleas, summer crepe myrtles, fall maple trees and winter holly bushes all offer beauty unique to this area. And there is nothing to compare to the sun setting over a Mississippi County cotton field – you have to see it to believe it!
And then there’s the food. Whether its catfish or barbecue, foods from grandma’s kitchen or fresh fruit and vegetables from northeast Arkansas farms, the people of Mississippi County know how to cook and love to share good ole home-style Southern cooking with family and friends. If you leave hungry it's your own fault!
Our greatest asset is our people. Southern hospitality is a way of life for us and we will make you feel “right at home” in Mississippi County. Whether you are here for business or pleasure, your comfort is our top priority.

They hope to use the results to improve National Weather Service warnings, services, and education of severe weather. This survey is not limited to just first responders.
